Individuals at outpatient programs can choose to live at home. Both treatment programs are equally effective; however, they are made to meet the needs of individuals at different stages of recovery. Many people use both types of treatment programs as they progress in their recovery journeys.
-
Which Therapies Are Used in Outpatient?Outpatient programs differ as each program offers its own treatment philosophy, resources, and modalities. Moreover, the therapies used will depend on the needs of the individual client. Factors that affect which therapies are used include: Which substance(s) a client used. Whether a client has a co-morbid mental health disorder and/or other blatant needs. At Under Angel's Wings Recovery, we utilize the following evidence-based therapy modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Significant Other Therapy Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Motivational Interviewing (MI)
-
What is MAT?Medication-assisted treatment combines pharmaceutical medications with behavioral therapy to help people during the difficult stages of drug and alcohol withdrawal. These medications can mitigate cravings and withdrawal symptoms, allowing clients to build a strong foundation of sober tools before they gradually wean off of the drugs.
